History

I developed a passion for web development during my time in secondary school, and it has continued to inspire me ever since. Some of my earliest projects were done whilst in secondary school where I spent my time learning all sorts of programming languages during my lunch time and free periods. Here is a few of them.

Intranet Borderlands - 2012

The time I gave my school intranet a new design focused around borderlands back in 2012 when it was game of the year.

Web Game - 2014

I was in love with a game called Tribalwars and wanted to learn how it was made and to make my own one day. So I started just writing code, I picked PHP as it was the language I was most familiar with at the time and XAMPP could serve PHP via Apache and also had a built in PHPMyAdmin control panel for SQLlite if I remember correctly.I have sadly lost all this code which is really devastating because I put so many hours in to that project. It was completely functional from a login system and also used sql timers to increment users materials based on their structure levels whilst they were not on the website. It was great. In one of the later projects on this page, you can see a more detailed version of this game.

Hackham West Community Centre - 2014

In 2014 I found myself attending some dad groups after having my first born a year earlier and whilst I was there we talked about me wanting to get in to anything information technology related, which lead me to do volunteer work there to help support people that came in to learn how computers work as well as helping them with their drivers licence tests as most of the people who came in seeking support did not have personal computers of their own.

Matts Computing - 2015

Back in 2015 I made a portfolio with all my Visual Studio, Html and Java projects (sadly lost the code to those projects).

Music Player - 2018

In 2018 I wanted to make a way to know what songs were playing on both Nova 91.9 and Fresh 92.7. So I built a media player which still works today that listens to the web streams for both stations and will output the names of the songs played, on top of that it keeps a history and can be exported to a file so the song names can be added to a playlist at a later date. This was built using Windows Forms.
